APPOINTMENT OF NEW EAIC 2026/2028 COUNCIL CHAIRPERSON:

Prof Jane Mwikabi Mwisalawe Fwr CHG, EBS. The East African Intergovernmental Council welcomes the New EAIC Council Chairperson Prof Jane Mwikabi Mwisalawe. Prof Mwikabi has been instrumental in leadership and governance throughout East and Central Africa, she has been a member of various faculties around the globe nurturing small governance institutions within Africa, Prof Mwikabi takes over from Commissioner Dr Annald Nyasinga Ongwenyi of the Republic of Kenya who’s tenure comes to an end on 31st March 2026,The Council wishes Prof. Mwisalawe all the best as she embarks on her new Journey with the Council.

COUNCIL 2026-HUMAN RESOURCE & ADMINISTRATION REPORT: Retirement of Council Commissioners: Commissioner Dr Mary Njamuele: -EAIC Outgoing Commissioner Dr Annald Nyasinga Ongwenyi Representing the Republic of Kenya thanked Dr Mary Njamuele for her distinguished service to the Council, during her period the Council made tremendous achievements in strengthening administrative functions and procedures. COUNCIL 2025/2026 RECESS PERIOD REPORT: The Council recess period began in December 2025 on which the full Council ratified that staff proceed for a long recess for a period of two months, the recess period ends on 10 th March 2026. COUNCIL 2026 OPERATIONS CALENDAR REPORT: The Council operations calendar will be available highlighting planned activities for year 2026 asfrom 10 th March 2026. COUNCIL 2026 RECRUITMENT REPORT: The Council approved two appointments of junior management staff.  ICT Officer -Foreign & International Relations Department-Processing of appointmentongoing. Public Relations Officer-CEO ‘Office-Processing of appointment ongoing. Director Medical Service-Recruitment advertisement process ongoing. COUNCIL CHAIRPESRSON ANNUAL STATUS REPORT: The current term of the Council Chairperson Dr Annald Nyasinga Ongwenyi (Republic of Kenya) is coming to an end (April 2026) hence the partner states are currently reviewing the Status report to enable the states to recruit a new Chairperson as per the EAIC Statutes: COUNCIL 2026 STATE OF THE ART REFURBISHED BOARDROOM: The Council, through the Chairperson Dr Annald Nyasinga Ongwenyi commended the Administration for the refurbishment of the new state of the art Council boardroom as it will enhance its operational capabilities.

EAIC Scholarships COMMISSIONER DR ANNALD NYASINGA ONGWENYI WITH KENYAN PRIME CABINET SECRETARY DURING A VISIT TO EAIC HEADQUARTERS TO DISCUSS 2024/2025 EL-UZEENI SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS FOR NEEDY STUDENTS/PROFESSIONALS IN EAST AFRICA& KENYA. EAIC Council Chairman DR Annald Nyasinga Ongwenyi Met with the Prime Cabinet Secretaryof the Republic of Kenya Hon Wycliff Musalia Mudavadi to discuss the El Uzeeni British RoyalFamliy Funding and Scholarships for needy students and working professionals seeking to work In the United Kingdom and the United States year 2024/2025. The meeting and Kenyan Delegation agreed to sponsor 100 Needy cases for the first quarter allocated to the republic of Kenya. This will go along in poverty alleviation and improvement of lives of Kenyan citizens through job creation and international exposure.

EAIC THIRD ANNUAL PRESIDENTIAL CONFERENCE ON ECONOMIC INVESTMENTS IN AFRICA

Dr Dennis K M Third annual presidential conference of economic investments in Africa shall take place in the United States of America selected participants such as Dennis K Maritim from Kenya who will  be presenting a case study of Kenya and by extension Nakuru county this will be the final phase of the EAIC where research grants shall be issued to successful participants the phase shall begin on 15 th of March 2024 to 26 th of April 2024.
